Midori Visits ANIM in Portugal

On March 5, superstar violinist Midori and her colleague Clara Kim, traveled to Braga, Portugal, to visit faculty and students at Afghanistan National Institute of Music. During the visit, students from ANIM, including members of the all-female Zohra Orchestra, worked one-on-one with Midori and Clara, who spent time teaching and guiding the musicians. Midori joined a combined orchestra of ANIM students and students at the Braga Conservatory for a performance including Afghan folk music, Mendelsohn’s Violin Concerto, and a work by American violinist and composer William Harvey.
