Further assistance is needed for:

Specialist music teachers - to overcome the serious lack of specialist teachers currently in Afghanistan due to damage that our music culture has suffered across the last three decades, ANIM is seeking a partner to provide specialist music teachers from overseas or funding for the employment of these specialists until the graduates of ANIM are ready to take over these teaching positions.

Sponsorship for orphans and street working kids – ANIM has a strong commitment to supporting the most disadvantaged group in Afghan society – the orphans and street working kids - with an allocation of fifty percent of our places offered to this group. While there are no tuition fees, these children face considerable costs in daily transport and by attending school they are unable to work the long hours needed to earn enough to survive. Currently ANIM has 25 street working kids enrolled with the expectation that this will increase in 2010 to at least 75 students. We are urgently seeking a modest $20USD per child per month to cover their expenses and loss of earnings to ensure that they are able to continue their education. We welcome one-off donations as well as long-term sponsorship.
