Allegra Boggess is the instructor of piano, oboe, and bassoon at ANIM. Ms. Boggess began her piano studies at the age of five and her oboe studies at the age of 10. She attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the University of Colorado at Boulder where she graduated summa cum laude in 2007 with a degree in piano performance. Ms. Boggess was a winner at the Young Musician’s Foundation of Colorado auditions and has been a participant in the Aspen Music Festival, International Keyboard Institute and Festival at the Mannes Conservatory in New York City, and the Schlern International Music Festival in Völs am Schlern, Italy. Additionally, she served for two years as principle oboist of the Denver Young Artists Orchestra.
Ms. Boggess is passionate about teaching music to young people worldwide. Before joining ANIM’s faculty, she managed the music department and taught piano at Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project, a school for socially and economically disadvantaged children in southern India.
